Saturday, June 5, 2021 -Newly elected Member of Parliament for Matungu Constituency Mr. Oscar Nabulindo has contradicted his own party over Mumias takeover.

Reacting just a day after his ANC party leadership took issue with the manner in which Mumias was being leased out, MP Nabulindo who on Saturday June 5 held a lengthy meeting with Governor Wycliffe Oparanya said it was wrong for anyone to stop investors from reviving the miller.

He described such politicians as selfish and who are just out to serve their own selfish interests instead of addressing the plight of Mumias locals who most depended on the plant to survive.

“I request you Governor to prevail upon the investor to rescind his decision to pull out of the deal because of the noise by selfish leaders,” said the MP as quoted in one of the popular county WhatsApp groups.

Musalia Mudavadi recently led some of his lieutenants in cautioning anyone who wanted to take over the machines saying they will not be allowing it if it is not done overboard.

These sentiments left one major investor – Nerendra Raval – unhappy hence forcing him to withdraw his interest in taking over the collapsed machines.

Muimas Sugar Factory has had enough of its woes with the Jubilee Government plans to try and revive it bearing no fruits at all.

Government in its last attempts to breath life back into the machines pumped a whopping sh 3 billion into the factory which, unfortunately, couldn’t change anything.
