Sunday, June 6, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto will have his running picked from Mt. Kenya. Details have surfaced.
In their efforts to make Ruto their preferred 2022 candidate, a section of his allies have told the Nation Daily that they will be coronating him in a church function in an event dubbed ‘Holy Spirit Coronation Drive’. It is during this time that Dr. Ruto will announce his full team including the running mate.
“They have picked their kingpins from the bushes and we will pick ours from the altar of God,” Nakuru senator Susan Kihika said.
In her indirect dig at the recent move that saw some Mt. Kenya leadership coronate Speaker Justin Muturi as their region’s chief spokesman, the senator said theirs will not be shrouded in darkness and that everything will be done above board.
Reacting on the same, Murang’a Senator Irungu Kanag’ata confirmed that huge plans were underway to officially crown Ruto as the next Presidential contestant for their region.
“We are competing against opponents who oppose the church and do not have any known mainstream faith.
“Since Mt Kenya is home to God-fearing voters, we will have to do things differently and avoid competing on the platform of darkness, dedicating our candidate to God,” Kang’ata bragged.
This is the first time Mt. Kenya part of the country has been divided ahead of a general election and it will be interesting to see how this will finally end with president Uhuru Kenyatta also promising to step his foot firm on the ground so that to reclaim his kingship in the region.
