Kalonzo Cannot Mount any Serious Campaign Without me, Muthama

Monday, June 7, 2021 -Ukambani Region has weak candidates who cannot mount a serious presidential campaign.

Former Machakos Senator Johnson Ndunya Muthama has hit out at both Kalonzo Musyoka and Governor Alfred Mutua asking them to vie for lesser seats rather than wasting time fighting for presidency which they cannot win.

Speaking on a local tv channel – Mutongoi tv, Muthama observed that the politicians who want to vie for the top seat from their region most have no skills nor resources to compete the likes of Raila Odinga and William Ruto.

He added that without him pushing them and aiding them financially, it will be difficult for Kalonzo and Mutua to help themselves.

“All those candidates in Ukambani can’t hold a successful mega rally outside the region. Most of the Ukambani leaders are not even after the presidency, they want the votes so that they can be able to negotiate for positions,” he said.

He therefore promised to remain with DP Ruto’s team which he argues has turned into a stable outfit and which anyone would like to associate with for power.

The ex-senator recounted a recent case where Kisumu residents, in rare show of solidarity, welcomed Ruto’s Hustler Narrative in a Raila stronghold what many are yet to believe.

“Nyanza has never elected someone who doesn’t support anyone who is not brought by Raila Odinga but you saw how they welcomed Ruto. The central province has never supported someone who is not their own but that has changed,” added Mr. Muthama.

Before joining Ruto in their newly formed United Democratic Alliance UDA Party, Muthama was a staunch supporter of Mr. Odinga and an insider in the defunct NASA coalition of 2017 that lost to Uhuru.
