Tuesday, June 8, 2021 -Kirinyaga Governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru has admitted that going forward it will be difficult to contain William Ruto in Mt. Kenya.
As the latest politicians from Mt. Kenya to speak about the dwindling fortunes of their party Jubilee, Ms Waiguru asked their party leader Uhuru Kenyatta to step his feet forward so as to salvage it or risk losing majority of allies to other parties.
Taking to her social media handle, the governor noted with concerns that most of them are not sure which party they will be using for their 2022 contest and that something ought to be done before people get scattered away.
“The rains have beaten us. Our fortunes are dwindling. Intense introspection is demanded,” Waiguru stated.
She went ahead to advise the president to forgive and invite both the rebels and those who had been chased from the party so that they can chant single way forward as a family.
She added that Jubilee party will only manage to effectively compete Ruto’s Party if it starts to apply a completely new strategy.
“Our outlook and strategies must suit the times and so we must be willing to step off our comfort zones and embrace new ways of thinking and doing.
“We must also be pragmatic and re-open both the sides and back of the tent for people to enter and re-enter,” Waiguru added.
Waiguru who is serving her first term on Jubilee ticket is the only female Governor from Mt. Kenya and who managed to beat Narc Kenya’s Martha Karua in the 2017 polls.
