Tuesday, June 15, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto now wants his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta to explain why he has decided to support his rivals in the next elections.

Responding to Uhuru’s recent remarks about who he will be backing for 2022 presidency, Ruto wondered why the head of State was now moving close to denouncing him completely.

DP William Ruto.

Uhuru Kenyatta recently stated that he will be supporting a candidate from NASA coalition and not William Ruto; what seems to have rattled Ruto and his team.

Though the DP has previously maintained that he was not concerned about endorsements because he has a huge following all over the country, Uhuru’s latest statement did not go well with him.

“So, what happens to the Thurakus, the kumìrà kùmèrà contingent, the 8 million of us? None, no youth, no woman, no man of the 8M who woke up early and voted 3 times for Uhuru Kenyatta/William Samoei Ruto ticket merit support?” Ruto posed.

He added that, anyway, going forward he will fully bank on God to clinch the presidency in 2022 against the NASA team which may comprise Raila Odinga and Gideon Moi. Further Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang’ula will be in same outfit same to ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi who however is still feeling some sense of entitlement to be on his own.

NASA Coalition led by former Premier Raila Odinga.

Ruto’s response is coming just a day after his boss Uhuru Kenyatta held a daylong meeting with a section of leaders from the lower Eastern Region at Statehouse where he promised to throw his weight behind a NASA candidate.

The president also confirmed his commitment to make sure Ukambani Region gets its fair share of development which he argued was interfered with by some sections in government during their first term in office.

Kalonzo Musyoka, Charity Ngilu and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga met during Kalemba Ndile’s final send off service in Makueni County in which they indicated plans to revive the moribund NASA Coalition.
