Thursday, June 17, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta has reportedly planned to embark on an aggressive tour in all the NASA strongholds in his bid to help block his Deputy William Ruto from taking power in 2022.
This is happening even as Mt. Kenya vote rich Region remains split over their next move what Ruto allies are fearing could completely interfere with their 2022 antithetic if things continue going the way they are.
“All the divisions we are seeing in Mt Kenya are being sponsored from State House so as to divide the DP’s support in the mountain,” said Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.
Uhuru’s decision to consolidate all NASA strongholds, according to sources, will help in ridding off Ruto from Odinga areas ahead of the polls.
Mr. Kenyatta recently declared that he will be supporting a NASA candidate and not William Ruto; what triggered some disquiet in Tangatanga camp.
Ruto immediately took to his Twitter to question why his boss was abandoning the over 8 million supporters who took them to Statehouse.
And now insiders have told the Star that the Statehouse has laid down a wall-to-wall plan to market the NASA coalition ahead of 2022. They believe that with their State machinery it will be difficult for Ruto to take over power through his rising Hustler narrative.
It has also emerged that days after unveiling multi billion shilling projects in Luo Nyanza where Odinga comes from, Uhuru has promised to pitch camp in Ukambani and this will be happening this end month.
His tours will be accompanied by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and several Lower Eastern politicians in a move that will turn Ukambani to speak in one voice.
The Star further reported that Uhuru will still concentrate on unveiling mega government projects in his bid to jolt Ruto’s campaign strategy.
After his Ukambani tours, the head of State will be heading straight to the Coastal and Western Regions respectively – another ODM Party strongholds – for the same development activities.
