Friday, July 9, 2021 -Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was part of the high powered delegation accompanying President Uhuru Kenyatta to Ukambani Region during his 1st day development tour which kicked off today.
Sources who talked to this desk indicated that this move left some sections of politicians in shock following the ongoing feud among the NASA affiliates which comprises Kalonzo Musyoka and who is the reigning supreme kingpin of Ukambani Region.
President Uhuru and Raila Odinga seemed tied together like Siamese twins during today tour that saw all Ukambani top leadership including Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu, Alfred Mutua(Machakos) and Prof Kivutha Kibwana(Makueni) also attend.
It is not clear why Raila would accompany Mr. Kenyatta to a regional event but, according to pundits, all these has something to do with the 2022 succession politics in which National Super Alliance NASA is supposed to be revived so as to face off with Ruto’s UDA.
This is happening despite Mr. Musyoka – last Thursday – went blunt on ODM Party accusing its leadership of distrust over political parties funds. This accusation was also leveled at Odinga by other NASA principals – Musalia Mudavadi and Mose Wetang’ula.
The three partners in NASA vowed they would compel Odinga to account for every coin he received in 2017/18 for NASA.
“The issue of discussion will be political parties funds. This is taxpayers’ money by the way,” Kalonzo stated.
Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has been consistent calling for the unity of NASA Coalition ahead of the 2022 contest warning that if they went their separate ways then DP William Ruto might beat them separately.
