Sunday, July 18, 2021 -Amani National Congress ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has started to soften his stance over revival of the defunct National Super Alliance NASA ahead of next general elections.
Being among the top politicians bracing themselves for 2022 duel, the Western Kenya politician said there is still hope of reviving NASA as long as the agreement is anchored on written trust.
Speaking during his Nyeri tour on Saturday, the former Vice President expressed his hopes that their 2017 coalition could be back through fresh and good policies that every member could feel valued. This would prevent the usual political pitfalls.
“So before we sign anything new, we have to have an understanding on some fundamental issues,” he said on his first day of his two-day tour in Nyeri.
He clarified that NASA’s woes escalated when one of their members could nolonger be trusted despite him(Musalia) being the founder of the coalition that once gave the siting regime a run for their money in 2017.
Asked if they are holding talks to revive the umbrella, he disclosed they are doing that through Mr. Kalonzo Musyoka whom they mandated to engage the Handshake partners and bring back the feedback.
Musalia of recent has been out and about selling his 2022 agenda to supporters with intentions to run for top seat.
“We are intentional in our desire to bring on board more women candidates in 2022,” he said after his meeting with Garissa governor Ali Korane in his (Mudavadi) office in Nairobi last Thursday.
As of now, Mudavadi is a member of the newly formed One Kenya Alliance OKA whose other members are Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula and KANU’s Gideon Moi.
