Peter Kenneth’s Speech in Murang’a That Raila Cannot Ignore

Wednesday, July 28, 2021 -Former Gatanga Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth has advised former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on how to handle the Mt. Kenya region ahead of 2022.

While addressing in Murang’a during ex-PM visit at S. K. Macharia’s home on Tuesday July 27, Kenneth told Raila Odinga to make it a habit touring the region so that residents could familiarize with him.

He noted that regular visits in many parts of the region would make those who have had negative feeling against him to start changing their minds slowly.

He challenged Odinga to visit him at his home, spend a night and next day go to church in Gatanga where he would freely mingle with locals.

“Sometimes come to my place, spend the night, go to church in Gatanga. Make rounds in this region so that people may feel your presence,” Peter Kenneth said.

The Mt Kenya leaders had met in Murang’a for the Skiza Thanksgiving Ceremony which was also attended by different tycoons from the region.

Also present were members of the creative industry who included musicians and actors from Mt. Kenya region.

For decades now, the former prime minister and ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has been having difficulties in getting votes from the Central part of Kenya. And now with just one year left to the next general election, Raila’s biggest headache still remains how he can capture the trust of Mount Kenya voters.

Reacting to the increasing debate about Raila Odinga’s presidency, Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi on Tuesday said Raila is an easy sell in Mt. Kenya than Ruto. He argued that Odinga’s only mistake was running against Kikuyus unlike other contestants who have done more physical harm to the community.
