Wednesday, July 28, 2021 -Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leadership has finally shared details on how they will be sharing the sh 487 million they were given from the Political Parties kitty.
To put the matter to a rest after along battle, Former Premier Raila Odinga reportedly explained that he will be sharing the cash with colleagues so that they could calm down and focus on the bigger picture awaiting them ahead.
Among the parties listed to benefit from the opposition funds are Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC party, Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Democratic as well as Moses Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya.
And according to the details which Homenews.co.ke has seen, Raila’s ODM Party will pocket a staggering portion of sh 334.563 million while the remaining amount will be shared among the other four.
As Kalonzo will be receiving sh 70.4 million of the funds, Mudavadi’s ANC Party will be receiving a whopping sh 43.8 million while Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya will get sh 36.04 million cheque.
Further, it has emerged that Isaac Ruto’s Chama cha Mashinani will pocket a paltry sh 3.08 million due to its small size.
The said funds are based on the cash accrued between the years 2017 and 2020 when ODM received sh 487 million.
Though Odinga’s party had previoulsy claimed that any cash they had received was not as a result of the 2018 presidential vote, it is now a sigh of relief for the NASA affiliates after he softened his stance.
Musalia, Kalonzo and Wetang’ula have been threatening to pull out of NASA citing lack of respect from their big brother Raila Odinga. Among the things they have been demanding are: respect for the 2017 coalition pact as well as the political parties funds.
