Friday, July 30, 2021 -Ministry of Health has announced countrywide curfew to kickoff from 10PM to 4AM starting today.
Further, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe directed that public and personal meetings will not be allowed throughout the country. All meetings in government will also be done online.
The Ministry also directed that any physical meetings must be done within the stipulated time and guidelines. For instance, churches to be limited to third of the capacity with a 1 meter physical distance observation.
Those operating restaurants and eateries must also observe proper Covid-19 guidelines of sanitation and social distancing.
Those in employment were allowed to work from home so that to reduce chances of infections within the work place. This one will go on until further notice.
In the same direction, Mutahi said all burial services will be required to complete within the 72 hour time and with a strict capacity of 50 persons.
He however announced that schools will go on with their learning activities since they have not received any disturbing data from learning institutions.
“To ensure safe and continued learning in our education institutions, all teachers are strongly implored to present themselves for vaccination against Covid-19. As we speak today, our hospitals are full, you cannot get a hospital bed. Let’s be more vigilant to avoid overwhelming our hospitals. And I am not scaring you,” CS Kagwe noted.
Supporting Mutahi’s orders, Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai said that his officers will be on the lookout to nab any persons holding unlicensed physical gatherings.
Western part of the country where curfew has been starting at 7PM will resume the countrywide 10 – 4PM dusk to dawn timeline.
