We Won’t Back Ruto Before we Honor Raila – Mt. Kenya

Sunday, August, 15, 2021 -A section of Mt. Kenya leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta have revealed why they are not voting William Ruto into power.

In a hard-hitting statement they made on Thursday August 13, they claimed that Ruto had made several sins against the president among them lack of respect and  bringing confusion into government through constant chest thumbing.

They have therefore warned the deputy president against expecting any serious support from their area saying they have alternatives.

Led by Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Mureithi, they clarified that the first debt which they are aware of and are planning to repay is the sacrifice the Odinga family has done for their community since 1962.

This is when Jaramogi Oginga Odinga declined power in favour of the incarcerated Jomo Kenyatta. He waited for Mr. Kenyatta to come out of jail first to take power with him. They have also listed the 2022 events that saw Raila endorse Kibaki in broad day light through the ‘Kibaki Tosha’ campaign tool.

“We have a debt that we must pay. It has been there since 1962 with another one in 2002. Besides, leaders who have fought for freedom should be rewarded,” Governor Ndiritu Mureithi said.

And weighing on the matter from elsewhere, Constitutional Oversight and Implementation Committee Chair MP Jeremiah Kioni[Ndaragwa] has also taken a jibe at DP Ruto stating that the reason why the Mt Kenya region is avoiding him by all means is because of his insatiable appetite for power.

“The Deputy President has failed the President. We can undo the inroads he has made within three months as we move towards the elections,” he stated in Homa Bay during the Friday burial service of David Ajwang father to Senator Moses Kajwang.

But according to deputy president’s allies from Mt. Kenya, it will be hard to sell Odinga around their area unless a miracle happens.
