MP Aisha Jumwa flashed out of her hide out after three days

Finally, vocal Malindi legislator Aisha Jumwa decided to present herself to police after DPP’s office had ordered her immediate arrest last Thursday August 27th.

The ODM-turned-Tangatanga politician resurfaced in a video bidding bye bye to her electorates after hiding for close to three days despite having been notified of arrest warrants following claims of abuse of office and embezzlement of Constituency Development Funds CDF in her constituency.

According to a video which we have in our possession, the female lawmaker appeared to clear the air that she was not arrested and that she was headed to police station voluntarily as a law abiding citizen.

“Good Morning, Malindians, Kenyans, I’m now off to Port Police as directed by the courts, I’m hearing rumours that I’ve been arrested.

“I’ve not been arrested, I’m going as a law-abiding citizen. I’m now off, see you,” stated Jumwa in the video.

Scanty reports had indicated that Jumwa had, since her disappearance, switched off her phones and could also not be traced by authorities anywhere near her home.

In the Sunday video that Homenews.co.ke received on the desk, Jumwa could be seen speaking to kids around her as she cat-walked away from home.

Last Friday August 28th, she allegedly failed to accompany her co-accused to a Mombasa based court where they were arraigned before Chief Magistrate Edna Nyaloti who ordered Jumwa to either present herself to police or be arrested by nearby Port Police.

She is being represented by city lawyers Danston Omari, renowned Criminal lawyer Cliff Ombeta and Jared Magolo who defended their client saying the DPP officers gave orders too late at night making it impossible for her to abide by them.

She is accused of misusing over sh 57 million Constituency Development Funds CDF through fraudulent entities she both owns and co-owns. Video/Courtesy-
