Kiage was among the seven judge bench which gave a ruling on the Building Bridges Initiative BBI after it was, a few month ago, declared by the High Court null and void.

At the Court of Appeal, judges were mandated to establish whether the president and his ally Raila Odinga had the capacity to initiate such an important exercise affecting ordinary citizens and if they actually followed the law.

The judges were also establishing whether the president can be sued just like any other Kenyan found breaking the law.

As several judges gave their powerful judgments, one remained towering above the rest; Judge Kiage showed the country how he is well vast with every bit of the law.

“The spirit of the constitution must preside and permeate the process of judicial interpretation and judicial discretion,” he started.

He went ahead to judge that afew powerful individuals are trying to take the country back to the dark old days something that must be brought to a sudden end to save this nation.

The Judge further noted that the 2010 Constitution was a product of immense sweat and intense public participation which the people of this nation can’t allow to be soiled by afew elites sitting in the board room.

Justice Kiage is the JURIST OF THE YEAR,” Ahmednasir wrote on his Twitter page.

Many other Kenyans saw the same in him and heaped praises at the judge even before he had concluded his address.
