Tuesday, March 15, 2022 –Former Citzin’s Tv’s Joe Ageyo has officially joined Nation Media Group where he will serve in the capacity of Editorial Director – Broadcasting.
In an official appointment statement seen by Homenews.co.ke on Tuesday March 15, NMG Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Gitagama, announced that Ageyo will officially start the job next month.
His role will entail not only heading the editorial functions of the station but also required to participate in the development and execution of the NMG’s editorial strategy. He will be reporting directly to the Editor-in-Chief.
“Joe will be in charge of the editorial functions of NMG’s broadcast operations in Kenya across multimedia platforms. He will report directly to the Editor-in-Chief with a dotted reporting relationship to the Executive Director – Transformation,” the statement read in part.
Nation Media’s management was hopeful that Ageyo is the right person to help the Nation Center station grow even bigger due to his influence and vast experience in newsrooms.
Ageyo, who holds an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester, joined RMS in 2018 as the company was restructuring following the exit of his predecessor and now Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Farida Karoney.
“He also holds certificates in Sustainability Management and Environment Diplomacy from the University of Tilburg, Netherlands and the University of Geneva, respectively. He is a seasoned professional in journalism and brings a wealth of experience that will add great value to NMG,” Gitagama added.
The Nation Media Group family on Kimathi Street welcomed the seasoned journalist in their home with a lot of confidence that he will be the best team player when he officially reports in office from April.
