ICC resurgence triggered Ruto’s latest move to halt rallies.

Renowned blogger Robert Alai now claims the main reason Deputy President William Ruto finally cancelled his tours around the country was because of the ICC issue.

Moments after the Honorable DP tweeted about scaling down his ‘political’ tours, blogger Robert Alai took him on with a contrary view arguing that Ruto had been thrown into panic mode by the emergence of the Hague topic again in the country.

“ICC brought the cancellation not COVID-19. The weaponised ethnic stereotypes the DP is relying on and using ethnic tropes to rile up his base is dangerous for the country,” Alai tweeted.

Sources have whispered that immediately Ruto learnt of Lawyer Paul Gicheru’s presentation to the Hague, he(DP) called his legal team to deliberate on ramifications that may arise from such a dangerous move by his lawyer.

Ruto, according to reliable sources, fears that this can expose him back to the Hague based Court which had suspended their prosecution due to lack of evidence and witness interference.

Alai’s sentiments comes just hours after Dr. Ruto made it clear why he will be scaling down on his daily rallies.

“The upsurge in Covid19 cases strongly indicates that a second wave my be in the offing. For this reason I have decided to significantly scale down my public engagements until further notice. The empowerment meetings for this weekend in Machakos, Kitui and Makueni are postponed,” he tweeted.
