Tuesday, January 11, 2022 –Revered blogger Robert Alai had to delete one of his late night Monday social media post after his expectation failed to yield.
The influential social media guru had to pull down an opinion poll tweetin which he had asked who between Raila Amollo Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto sponsors ethnic violence in the country.
Unfortunately, many users picked on Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga as the key figure in causing national unrest every electioneering period.
As 44 percent of the respondents chose DP Ruto, 56 said the former prime minister Raila Odinga has been key in fueling animosity in the country.
Blogger Robert Alai is among the most influential bloggers on social media platforms and is a die-hard supporter of the former prime minister and his ODM Party.
Alai’s tweet on violence and hate speech came hours after the Meru Senator Mithika Linturi had been arrested following his explosive madoadoa violence speech in Eldoret.
“Sisi tunataka kuwa kwa serikali inayokuja lakini nawaambia watu wa Uasin Gishu msicheze na Kenya na kile nawaomba ni kwamba madoadoa yale mliyonayo hapa muweze kuondoa. Hatuwezi kuwa tukisimama na William Ruto kule Mt Kenya na mko na wengine hapa hawasikii na hawawezi ungana naye…“.
While struggling to make an apology hours later, Linturi explained that the ‘madoadoa’ expression was taken out of context.
