Tuesday, August 15, 2023 –Sports Cabinet Secretary CS Ababu Namwamba has confirmed that the sensational Aldriane Kibet of St Anthony Boys Kitale is headed to Spain.
Making this announcement on Tuesday August 15, CS Namwamba also listed Amos Emmanuel Wanjala who plays center back as another student headed to Nastic Soccer Academy NAS in Tarragona, Spain.
They will be jetting out of the country to Spain where they are expected to join other young top talents from across the world to sharpen their football skills, further.
The Sports Cabinet Secretary also announced that Alvin Kirigano Kasavulu who plays number 8 and 10 interchangeably is set to fly out to the United States of America U.S.A to join Montverd Academy which is based in Florida City.
Mr. Namwamba described this development as a great new dawn for young football players in the country; a gift well deserved for their exemplary performance during the just-concluded thrilling Kenya Secondary Schools games held at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County.
Namwamba hailed the classical Kibet who scored a double in the school finals at Bukhungu to secure championship for his side St Anthony; saying the young brilliant boy now 17 years old will definitely help resuscitate the struggling Kenyan football.
“Kibet Aldrine Kipchirchir. What a talent! To resuscitate Kenyan football, we are back to the basics. Kibet & Co. from the schools’ ball games are our new dawn. Right now, 2000 top talents scouted from the school games are at National Sports Talent Camp, Kasarani,” CS Namwamba announced.
The Sports boss, yesterday Monday August 14, launched the Kenya’s first ever sports academy that absorbed thousands of school children for talent mentorship.
Over 2000 of top talents from across Kenya were selected from the just-concluded schools ball games to start exciting journey of elite training, scouting, mentorship and monetisation under the newly established Talanta Hela initiative.
