Governors across the country are all corrupt and have fleeced this country a lot of billions.
Though, we thought the inception of devolved units was godsend, it has turned out to be the worst thing that came to make political families richer than the whole country.
Governors roll in high end cars, buy choppers and build mansions in the name of governor’s residence all done to loot our monies.
These mansions could be confused with the Statehouse for a president.
Many governors around the country have amassed immense wealth in a very short time. They start roads, hospitals and stadia projects with the sole reason of looting through those projects.
In Kakamega, for example, former governor Wycliffe Oparanya amassed wealth through County Referral Hospital, the Bukhungu Stadium and road contracts. He made so much money from these projects which are yet to complete upto now. EACC had to even flag him for his questionable wealth. His successor Fernandes Barasa is a disaster. But life has to go on, anyway.
In the neighborhood of Busia County, Sospiter Ojaamong did zero development. He just looted the county dry and went with tax payers money comfortably. No one has ever raised a finger. They use the looted proceeds to protect themselves against the law.
In short, devolved units came to rob the country its wealth and there is completely nothing to boast about. Since 2013 upto today.
If we had a good president for this country, all those devolved units need to have been dissolved and audit done from when they were introduced to date. You will be shocked by how much money your governors have looted and stashed abroad.
However, because the leaders at the national level are no different from those at the county level, these economic crimes remain unabated and will never be controlled any time soon.
And the few governors like Ferdinand Waititu who have been arrested and charged in court are not any fraction of the amount of criminals who ought to be locked at Kamiti Maximum.
