Sunday, September 19, 2021 -Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress ANC Party has picked – in the acting capacity – Mr. Simon Gakuru as the new Secretary General.

The position which was abandoned by the current political adviser to the DP Dr. Barrack Muluka was left vacant last year and since then it had never been filled.

A statement from the party on Saturday September 18 said that Gakuru’s abilities in leadership will propel ANC fraternity to greater heights as 2022 elections nears. This will also boost the popularity of the party around the vote rich Mt. Kenya Region.

“The Party Leader has named Simon Gakuru as the acting party Secretary-General. Mudavadi said the young Makerere-trained lawyer has what it takes to champion the party ideals to greater heights, as the ANC party, we congratulate Mr. Gakuru and wish him all the best,” said ANC.

Barrack who resigned voluntarily was appointed in the year 2017 and served for approximately 3 years before DP’s wing poached him.

“I doubt I could add more value to what I have done so far. Moreover, it is now fitting that the space around you should be de-congested. This will allow you to make critical decisions on the population and leadership under the new constitution,” said Muluka when resigning.

Before Muluka was appointed, MP Godfrey Osotsi was the ANC bona-fide SG who is currently involved in Raila Odianga’s 2022 political campaigns as he plans to vie for Vihiga Senatorial seat on the ODM ticket.
