Sunday, January 9, 2022 –Amani National Congress ANC Party has disassociated itself from Senator Cleophas Malala’s tour in Eldoret where he attended Deputy President William Ruto’s rally.

Through their social media platforms on Saturday January 8, ANC Secretary General Simon Gakuru noted that Malala’s actions were not in any way associated with party’s leadership and that he had not been send by anyone.

Senator Malala while addressing the crowd in Eldoret had insinuated that his tour was informed by his party leader who days ago said the freedom of association should be respected by everybody.

“I was passing through your airport which I frequently use and heard that our deputy is having a rally and decided I should also join him the way he did in my Kakamega event held in Mumias on 31 December. My party boss recently talked about freedom of association,’ Malala addressed.

But ANC leadership would quickly take to its social media accounts to distance itself from the senator’s actions saying they had nothing to do with the Ruto event.

“The ANC party would like to disassociate itself with the activities taking place at Eldoret Sports Club Grounds. ANC has not sent anybody to represent either the party or the Party Leader in the said function. The official party position should only come from P L or the SG,” said the statement from Malala.

Malala would make another rejoinder defending that he had not in any way linked his visit to his ANC Party and that those reading a lot from the tour should stop because he had not decamped to UDA.

Ruto held a successful rally at Eldoret Sports Club where he was endorsed as UDA’s Party flag bearer.
