Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress ANC Party Secretary General Barrack Muluka has quit.
In a long resignation statement he tendered today Wednesday August 12th, Mr. Muluka who in a controversial manner took over from the now nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi claimed he had successfully made his contribution to the party and it was now time to pave way for another person.
In the same statement, he cited the many achievements he made possible during his tenure including writing an autobiography for his boss ‘Soaring Above the Storms of Passion’ that was released in 2019.
In the book, he attacked Orange Democratic Movement ODM party boss terming him a betrayer especially during the historic swearing in ceremony held at Uhuru Park.
In a blow by blow account of the happening during that day, Muluka, a renowned publisher and media consultant, mentioned that the trio made up of Mudavadi, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka and Mosses Wetang’ula were faithfully waiting to be raised so that they can join Odinga at Uhuru Park only to be duped by their Big brother ODM.
The Soaring Above the Storms book writer further believes he had helped in strengthening the ANC Party to become a national outfit.
“It is now ready…to compete for for political power against other major political parties. The coming into being of a new party constitution a few days ago, especially, gives ANC a good chance for a fresh start and a new lease of life,” said Muluka in the statement.
After his resignation, it will be interesting to see who will be taking over the space as Musalia Mudavadi continues to grapple with the idea of becoming the Kenya’s fifth president.
