Ruto also directed that any Cabinet official who arrived late in the today’s function held at the Statehouse must submit a written explanation on the same before the end of the day.

He warned that no one among them should point out traffic matters as their reason for lateness saying everybody in Nairobi goes through traffic issues every day.

“I will be expecting a written explanation detailing why you came late, and don’t include traffic unless you are not serious with your work and tired,” President Ruto said.

Homenews.co.ke has confirmed that a number of principal secretaries PSs were also forced to follow the proceeding from outside.

The said Tuesday August 1 State event was announced to start at exactly 8AM. This is according to an official programme released by Statehouse Press Secretary Emmanuel Talam.

On the same note, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua took an issue with the culture of lateness in State functions saying it was disrespectful.

“This is a sad day. I don’t understand why a Cabinet Secretary would arrive late for a function being presided over by the head of State. What we have witnessed today must come to an end. It doesn’t matter whether the President was your friend during political campaigns,” DP Gachagua said.
