Monday, November 21, 2022 –A young beautiful lady from Kiambu County has disclosed her shocking life experience that saw her serve three years in jail for a crime that her boss pushed her into.
An innocent Ann Makena who was speaking this to Citizen Tv on Saturday November 19, said she had to serve a total of three years behind bars for selling liquor that didn’t have Kenya Bureau of Standards KBS quality seals.
Ann completed her secondary school education in 2019 in which she managed to score good grades that could allow her to join any college but because her parents could not help, she decided to travel to Nairobi in the year 2020 where she got a temporary job in a shop.
Her main reason to move to the city was to get something to keep her busy and, in the process, get school fees for her college.
While there, by good luck, she was employed in a wines and spirit shop where first few days went on well.
Sadly, one day the notorious city council officers on their daily inspections found her alone in the shop, ransacked the place before they accused her of selling counterfeit drinks to customers.
They accused her of selling liquor which had no standardisation marks as it is always required by law.
Though she thought it was something small, she ended up being arrested and taken to court where the verdict was to serve a whopping 3 years behind bars with an alternative of sh 150,000 cash bail.
Her boss was no where to be seen as the naïve village girl went through all these.
