Monday, March 4, 2024 –Another fatal Embakasi fire left many families homeless as mothers and children in the area were left helpless.
The fire that started at Mradi area on Sunday night saw the families which reside around the place run for their dear lives.
This incident was confirmed by Embakasi East Member of Parliament MP Babu Owino born Paul Ongili.
“Sad news as fire razed down a children’s Home in Mradi, Embakasi. The helpless kids have been left homeless. Continue praying for us in Embakasi East,” he stated on the fire that started midnight on Sunday March 3.
This fire breakout happening hours after Governor Johnson Sakaja had visited the area as part of his follow up visits following recent gas explosion that also left many killed.
“Our Firefighters put a lot at stake to conduct response to emergencies across the city. We greatly appreciate their industry and sacrifice.
“This afternoon, I visited two of our officers who were injured in Kariobangi after a wall collapsed during response to a fire incident and are recuperating in hospital. We support them and encourage all our valiant officers to keep doing all they can to save lives and property,” Sakaja said.
The recent explosion that left about 12 persons dead and scores of others with high degree burns saw detectives arrest the gas plant owner, Derrick Kimathi, who this desk can reliably report that he has since been set free.
