Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was not as good as some people are trying to make it look like.
What is making Uhuru look like he was a better president is the fact that his successor William Ruto has underperformed and committed so many blunders compared to Uhuru. And in a very short period of two years, no body is happy accept his friends and people he appointed to positions.
Ruto’s many blunders are so rookie that when people remembers Uhuru’s tenure, they need him back. They compare Ruto’s style with Uhuru Kenyatta and arrive to a conclusion that Kenyatta was fairer. It is correct. That is fine. I also think so. But I also just think so.
Ruto’s appointments and the way he is conducting himself in office makes his own supporters angrier every day. During campaigns, for example, he promised young men and women jobs and a better business environment. Women selling Sukuma Wiki were asked to prepare for a lifechanging presidency. But after taking charge two years ago, Dr. Ruto forgot all of them at once. Not even one by one.
The only people Ruto would remember were Karen Nyamu, Jaguar, Murkomen and later absorbed Raila Odinga’s men into his administration. All these are a complete opposite of what he had promised us in his well articulated campaigns.
Ruto had promised us a completely different leadership style. A full departure from all his predecessors. He became worse, instead. And shamelessly worse. But we already have him, anyway.
However, as we speak all the ills about Ruto, we should not be forgetful. Uhuru oversaw a regime that lost our money through severe corruption. The list of corruption cases in Uhuru’s era is biting and very long and, to mention just a few cases:
Money was lost at the Kenya Medical Supply Agency KEMSA, billions lost at Telkom Kenya which is now on it’s knees, fake Huduma Namba that cost tax payers billions of money, and over Ksh 1.9b were looted by Anne Waiguru at NYS. Uhuru never uttered a single word.
Uhuru’s tenure presided over a whopping Ksh 24b primary kids laptop. This was outright theft from kids. A curse on Uhuru and Ruto because they led this country as a pair and Ruto was eve vocal on every project. He launched as many. Lost count.
Further, under the Uhuru Kenyatta presidency, Ksh 1.9b was gobbled in the fake NCPB farmers payment scheme. Still under the same fraudulent Uhuru Kenyatta, he used a staggering Ksh 2b and over in the BBI project with Raila Odinga. Outright theft of tax payers money where every MCA was also bribed with Ksh 2M to buy a car so that to support the illegal exercise. And by God’s grace it flopped still.
As if that was not enough, money was lost in fake stadia construction countrywide. Projects that never took off anywhere around the Republic of Kenya. Uhuru was just looking from the Statehouse as his deputy Ruto lies all about it.
Heartless Uhuru would even announce by himself that Ksh 2b was being pilfered daily from the Treasury. And he did nothing to stop this. No one was prosecuted and convicted. Not even one person to make us happy.
We also remember the Kimwarer and Arror multibillion Dam deals. Both Uhuru and the then his deputy William Ruto confessed on billions lost. Nothing actually happened to anyone, todate. These are our leaders we should be praising and clapping for. If we don’t, they come for us.
To sum up because this is a long corruption story , the difference between Uhuru and Ruto is close to none. Don’t praise Uhuru.
