Saturday, April 8, 2023 – Jubilee Party Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni has today shared details of boardroom negotiations meant to arrive at a single candidate to take over Sabina Chege’s duties in Azimio la Umoja.
The Coalition, on Friday, April 7, unveiled the names of three persons it believes could be a perfect replacement of the Nominated Member of Parliament, Sabina Chege, as the Deputy Minority Whip in the National Assembly.
These three include – Embakasii West MP Mark Mwenje, North Imenti Member of Parliament Dawood Abdul Rahim and Garissa County Woman Representative Amina Udgoon Kuno.
Secretary General Kioni said Jubilee Party is squarely mandated to make the replacement of any errant member who belongs to the party.
“The position for Deputy Minority Whip is a preserve for the Jubilee Party, and that is agreeable among all Azimio la Umoja parties,” Mr.Kioni confirmed.
He updated that, already, talks are going on to find who among the three candidates could take up the role played by Ms Sabina Chege who has since embraced the ruling regime.
For instance, Mwenje who joined political career in 2012 was, is an advocate of the High Court who, alongside another partner, also runs Mwenje and Karanja Advocates firm headquartered in Nairobi.
The Embakasi West MP, holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from Leeds University, a Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law and a Masters of Law from the University of Warwick.
