Sunday, March 19, 2023 – Azimio la Umoja supporters living in the United Kingdom UK have planned to demonstrate outside the Kenyan High Commission in London in solidarity with their opposition comrades backhomein Kenya.
In a statement seen by the media on Sunday March 19 afternoon, hundreds of Raila Odinga’s supporters are scheduled to pour on the streets in London City; this being part of the Azimio efforts to pile pressure on Kenya Kwanza government to heed to their demands.
According to organizers, as reported in the Standard, the demos will entail protest walks in Great Portland Street, Oxford Circus tube station and Regents Park tube station, culminating at the High Commission.
“We demand the IEBC servers to be opened to the public to show who actually won the elections failure to which we shall make the country ungovernable,” Ali Ali said.
Thereafter, the protestors will converge at a spot in Weatherspoon next to Regents Park tube station to review and strategize plan of action for the coming days.
“We want the world to know the truth about what happened with the August 2022 elections and to stop associating with an illegitimate government of Kenya,” Co-organiser Thomas Musau said.
They also promised that they will be supporting the Movement for Defence of Democracy (MDD) in its efforts to liberate the country from electoral deceit and an illegal administration.
