Broad-based government is just a political post election tool to play with our minds, as usual.
There is absolutely nothing like broad-based. President William Ruto and Hon. Raila Odinga cannot be all the country needed to have a broad government. Politicians just changing terms to suit the circumstances. Mwai Kibaki had the Grand Coalition handshake with Raila. Uhuru Kenyatta, on his part, never wanted to use the word Handshake. He would, instead, choose the Building Bridges Initiative BBI. Ruto, who is his successor, now also trying hard to avoid the term Handshake and BBI but, instead, he has come up with a new name never heard before – broad based. These are our politicians. They know how to twist out tongues to perfectly suit them, and life goes on anyway.
The reason they avoid as much using older terms is because, then, they had fought it as a bad structure. So when they now take charge and repeat the same formations they had lebaled evil, they have to change name to a synonym. It’s just a synonym whose meaning is the same thing.
Well, as long as there is peace and calm, we have no problem. After all, there is little power left in our hands after we vote these minions to office. Though, power belongs to the people, it has been made not easy to exercise it without being confronted by a bullet. Empty power.
So, once we elect them, immediately, they get armed bodyguards and State security to protect them against us. We have to start seeking appointments to be able to see them. And even with the appointment, don’t think you will secure airtime with them easily. Many times, you will be kept waiting on the queue alittle more.
