The Anglican Church has asked politicians who donated Ksh 5 million to a Bungoma ACK church to go back and pick the money.
Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK), Jackson Ole Sapit, yesterday, directed the Bungoma bishop who accepted President William Ruto’s Ksh 5 million donation to consider returning the money because the Anglican leadership and the Catholics had together agreed not to allow politics in church.
Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday, December 3, Sapit claimed the donation made by Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka on behalf of the Head of State was an attempt to shame the Anglican Church amid the ongoing debate.
While apologising for the incident, Sapit termed the move unfortunate adding that the Anglican church would not accept donations whose sources were unknown.
He urged the nation to agree and accept the new resolve by the church so that political leaders can stop the culture of misusing the church.
