Wednesday, August 30, 2023 -Businessman Jaswant Singh Rai has today filed notice to withdraw Mumias Sugar case at the Court of Appeal after President William Ruto issued a stern warning over teh casse.
Homenews.co.ke has learnt that Rai through lawyer Kioko Kilukumi filed teh notice so to withdraw the case so that new receivership can take over the factory.
“I have asked these people to withdraw that case as soon as possible and if they want to be stubborn then they must also be ready to face three consequences.
“Leave the country, be jailed or they fly to the Heaven,” Ruto warned two days while on his development tour around Western Region.
Rai was jostling to take over the Mumias Sugar Factory; what could have made him a strong monopoly in sugar business in the country.
His efforts to take over Mumias have however faced constant heavy, resistance from a section of political players among them area governor and a section of MPs.
