Saturday, December 19, 2020 –Uhuru Kenyatta’s office has directed that the Cabinet should take two weeks recess to end next year January 3rd.
Through an official statement from Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, the cabinet secretaries will be joining their families for Christmas holiday.
Kinyua through the Friday Dec 18th circular, however, noted that the presidential engagements will go on as usual including Security Council meetings.
He also revealed that the cabinet and their committees will not be having any scheduled engagements during the recess period unless required by the president due to unavoidable circumstances.
“Notwithstanding the recess, delivery of government services will continue uninterrupted and at the same service standard,” Kinyua stated in his statement.
This is coming amid speculations that President Uhuru Kenyatta is also planning to jet out of the country for a period of one month.
