Wednesday, December 8, 2021 –Former Tuko content developer Lynn Ngugi is among top 100 most influential women around the globe.
A report from the BBC 100 Women 2021 listed Ms Ngugi as an inspiring lady from the competitive media industry.
British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) usually names women from around the world who are changing lives in the society.
“Today was amazing (still). I hope we can all be inspired, reset our mind and help reinvent the society together. Also, seeing myself next to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was in itself a dream come true. Thank you so much God and the entire team at BBC for this. Together, we will change the world,” ecstatic Ngugi stated on social media.
Following the announcement, Lynn seized the opportunity to thank her ever-swelling fan-base who support her video stories she continues to update on-line.
Having just ditched Tuko.co.ke the other day, Ngugi already boasts of a whopping 244,000 subscribers on her channel which airs strictly human interest stories.
“Dedicating this to each and everyone of you. Thank you for believing in me. For walking with me, and for trusting me with your stories. Congratulations to all the women on the list. It’s an honor to be among you,” she added.
This is part of an honour for the great work she does on digital media – in particular her newly launched channel.
Before joining the competitive media industry, Ngugi was part of the cancer caring volunteers before she moved to Kiwo Films in 2011.
Today, her influence in media industry has earned her recognition not only in the country but also globally. Among the awards she has so far grabbed include the Cafe Ngoma Humanitarian Journalist of the Year Award in 2020 and the 2021 iChange Nations Community Ambassador Award.
The producer, content developer, and one of the media celebrities in Kenya has managed to touch the lives of many through her easy-to-relate to stories.
