Wednesday, March 1, 2023 –Legendary Ugandan artist Jose Chameleone born Joseph Mayanja has come out to publicly apologise to his fanbase for the action he did during a recent event dubbed ‘Gwanja Mujje’.

Through his social media platforms, the Mama Mia hitmaker on Tuesday February 28 ate a humble pie and asked his fans who were offended when he exchanged a romantic kiss with the brother Douglas Mayanja or Weasel live on the stage during their latest concert to forgive them.

Last week, the singer appeared embracing and kissing Weasel as the two singers shared stage at his much-anticipated concert held at Lugogo Stadium.

However, their interaction left some Ugandans especially on social media highly divided, with some suggesting that the singing brothers behaved indecently by kissing each other what has been described by many as un-cultural.

Following the unending backlash, Chameleone has taken to social media to apologise to his fans and all Ugandans who seem to have been offended.

“I wish to use this opportunity to apologise to my fans, friends…I know most of my friends are really offended and didn’t carry it lightly. I sincerely apologise..it was just too much energy, excitement. I actually regret it. The energy was just too high and it was a wrong way to share it with Weasel, my brother, and I also apologise on behalf of him. Thank you so much for accepting my apology.” Chameleone posted.

The Kigwa Leero singer stated that he kissed his brother out of excitement, following the success of his filled-up concert.
