Monday, August 22, 2022 –The seven Independent Electoral and Boundaries IEBC Commissioners have today met even after having exposed each other in a messy way over the recently botched presidential election.
Chairman Wafula Chebukati and his vice Juliana Cherera today Monday August 22 made their very first public show together, just seven days after a dirty breakup that started at the Bomas of Kenya when Chebukati announced DP William Ruto as the president-elect.
Their meeting today happened when the Commission invited candidates from Kakamega and Mombasa counties following the upcoming election that was postponed twice by the Chairman citing harassment to the his fellow IEBC officials.
Ms Cherera and Chebukati sat side-by -side like nothing ever happened between them as the meeting went on smoothly.
She could be seen oftenly sipping a bottle of water as Chebukati chaired the meeting that was also attended by IEBC CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan.
What everyone could easily notice was the fact that Chebukati and Cherera could not maintain any direct eye conduct and anytime he wanted to refer to any commissioner, he could be heard comfortably mentioning Mr. Marjan instead.
Cherera is leading a team of four descending commissioners who have openly faulted their chairman Chebukati for turning the entire commission into a one-man show in favour of William Ruto.
