Police have continued with arrests over the Friday night shooting of Kevin Omwenga, a Nairobi business man.
On Saturday morning, Citizen Digital reported that the second person to be arrested was Mr. Chris Obure who is also a city businessman. He was taken to Kilimani office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI.
Though scanty, details indicate that the gun which was used in the murder of the young man belonged to Obure who is a licensed gun holder in Kenya.
Police first identified Robert Bodo Ouko as the key suspect in the gruesome murder before continuing with further arrests with links having took them to Mr. Obure.
The publication further claimed that the death was caused from a deal gone sour and that this is not the first time Obure is mentioned in a gun drama; four years ago he allegedly caused a lengthy drama in a Nairobi club. The altercation almost claimed someone’s life before it was contained by bouncers on alert and police who came in later.
This led to him being charged with assault to Mr. Ben Alila Onyango on December 31st. The chaos took place in Westlands and after the incident, he was asked to surrender his fire arm but he ignored.
In a notable event, he was recorded splashing millions on his wife’s baby shower at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel. The fan-filled event left those who knew him talking.
He once in 2010 blew the whistle in the blood gold scam that saw him flee the country to South Africa where he had to take refuge until things calmed down.
