Sunday, January 16, 2022 –Rowdy youth confronted Citizen Tv journalist at Jacaranda grounds today during Deputy president William Ruto’s rally organized on Sunday January 16.
In a video seen by Homenews.co.ke, rowdy youth who attempted to interfere with Ruto’s UDA Party rally wanted to be addressed by Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino. They chanted Owino slogans as they made their move around the Jacaranda Ground.
“We do not want money, we want Babu. We do not want money, we want baba (Raila Odinga),” the youth chanted.
It forced officers from the Anti-Riot Police unit to swing into action with speed to contain the situation; what then allowed the rally to go on as was scheduled.
Ruto would then focus his blame finger at Raila Odinga whom he claimed had intentionally organized the disruptions.
“Mr Kitendawili shame on you for organizing these young men to pelt stones yet you are enjoying yourself.
“I want to tell our competitors, those who have a history of causing chaos. Those who like mobilizing youth to pelt stones and swear in themselves, we will not be intimidated,”Ruto said.
Before Jacaranda convention, Ruto had attended a church service at PCEA Kware in Embakasi South in the company of a number of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirants including ousted Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, Senator Millicent Omanga and Gospel Rapper Smith Mwatia (Rufftone).
