Tuesday, September 24, 2024 – Former United Democratic Alliance UDA Party Secretary General Cleophas Malala’s family was allegedly abducted and later found dumped on a roadside.
Taking to his X platform on Tuesday September 24, Cleophas Malala claimed that his 19-year-old son and brother in law were kidnapped by unknown men and tortured for a six hours.
During the ordeal, the former Kakamega County senator disclosed further that the abductees were forced to share whereabouts of his(Malala) and wife.
The abductors also threatened to cause more harm to the victims if they could not show them Malala’s Nairobi residence.
“My Son & my 19-year-old brother in-law were abducted at gunpoint. Tortured for 6 hours to disclose my whereabouts or that of my wife and to show them the way to my residence. On failing to find us at home they dumped them on Thika road; I have picked them, safe but traumatized,” added Malala in a statement he shared with users.
The events happening just days after the politician officially resurfaced in the limelight and joined embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on his early campaign trail.
On September 22, he accompanied the Deputy President at the PEFA Church, Thika Town in Kiambu County for a service before later holding a series of political stopovers.
Malala used the opportunity to warn that the new dalliance of Ruto and Raila will see him(Ruto) also get removed from office.
Malala noted that the same people who have been instructed to prepare an impeachment motion against Mr. Gachagua will also turn on President Ruto, soon.
Malala went ahead to list Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed and his Homa Bay Town counterpart Peter Kaluma as those instructed to draft the anti-Gachagua motion set to be tabled in just weeks time.
