Monday, March 20, 2023 – Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayuba Savula wants President William Ruto to appoint Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi into the Treasury docket to save the collapsing economy.
The DG who was addressing media in Kakamega today Monday March 20 observed that the country was now headed to a total economic shutdown due to poor financial management at the helm of the Treasury.
He compared Kenya and Tanzania and wondered how the former was quickly losing value to little economies in East Africa.
“Appoint Musalia as CS Treasury for him to stabilize the economy, otherwise Kenya is heading in the wrong direction,” Savula told K24.
According to the vocal DG, Counties were now running dry; what could soon see operations and activities come to a stop.
He defended his Musalia proposal saying the Prime Cabinet Secretary has a history of stabilizing the country – a good case study being when the country was facing Goldenberg scandal. This saw Musalia swing into action to negotiate with international financing organizations among them the World Bank and IMF to bailout the country.
