Monday, August 29, 2022 –Ms Martha Karua has managed to convince High Court in Nairobi to allow them use the report retrieved from the three Venezuelans who were arrested at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA.

This is a major boost to Raila Odinga’s petition at the Supreme Court which will see the evidence from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI also used to counter William Ruto’s victory.

The trio Salvador Javier Suarez, Jose Castellano and Joel Garcia, who were nabbed on July 21 with elections materials in their back packs were at the center of electoral malpractice with Azimio la Umoja camp linking them to plans to interfere with the system in favour of their competitors.

This DCI report will now make part of the case Raila Odinga has filed with the Supreme Court and could complicate matters for Ruto.

“Upon perusal of the pleadings, supporting affidavit and annexures, I am satisfied that the main prayer sought in the notice of motion is merited to enable the petitioner file her documents at the Supreme Court,” ruled Justice Ong’undi.

These fresh documents, according to the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Peter Maina, will quickly be moved to the Supreme Court where they will be perused and judgment made with regard to the contents.

The report adds weight to Azimio la Umoja argument that the independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC heavily colluded with some foreigners to mess the whole election exercise.
