Sunday, July 16, 2023 – Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, Moses Kuria, on Saturday July 15, announced a multi-million cash reward for Kenyans.
In his first social post on Saturday morning, the politician mentioned a sh 50 million cash reward to a Kenyan who can undertake a certain unspecified task.
“Cash reward sh 50 million,” Kuria pledged.
He would go on to make another controversial post on why he was rewarding this colossal amount of money.
In that post, it was apparent that the aim of the reward was to use some forceful means to stop the opposition from reaching Ruto.
“So you wait for us to vote for him now you have forced him to a Handshake tuachwe kwa mataa. Over my dead body” he vowed.
The controversial cabinet member didn’t stop at that, he made more social posts that insinuated his intention to harm someone whom he was not confident to name.
“Unasimama mbele ya bus imebeba abiria 53 million? Itapita na wewe Omera.
“Atakufa Wednesday 19th azikiwe Saturday 29th. Jowi!” he added.
He was indirectly supported by another United Democratic Alliance UDA Party politician Samson Cherargei who also tweeted something to do with using a ‘sniper’ to execute a bad mission.
On Sunday July 16 morning, Kuria would update his walls saying he had received an overwhelming response from those willing to take the sh 50M cash prize.
“The sheer number of people who have volunteered to do this even for 10 million not even the sh 50 million on offer is simply overwhelming. How should I award the job?” he noted.
These tweets left the country divided with section of Azimio leaders warning the William Ruto government against attempts to use guns against peaceful demonstrations.
Led by Senator Oburu Odinga, they cautioned the government against such attempts; saying this may leave the country without anyone to call off the protests.
Oburu warned that attempts on Raila’s life may plunge the country into a historical genocide like the one that left Ruanda tattered.
