Saturday, May 7, 2022 –Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has warned Deputy President William Ruto against continuous attacks to the Cabinet.
Matiang’i today, Saturday May 7, told the DP and his lieutenants not to provoke him just because he is a silent State official thinking he had become weaker.
The CS added that Ruto and his team had misconceived his calmness to think he had become an acoward who can’t take them on.
Revealing for the first time why they have been keeping cool despite incessant attacks from the DP and his friends, Matiang’i explained that this was due to the respect they have held for the office of the DP.
He went on to state that their maturity had been abused by Ruto’s team to an extent that they have been personally insulted together with their families.
“A number of my colleagues and I in Cabinet have been having conversations about the limit of this edict of collective responsibility. There are certain things we have avoided responding to because we respect certain offices,” he said.
The CS explained that, as members of the Cabinet, they were eagerly waiting for the president to give them a go-ahead to start defending themselves from Ruto’s daily attacks.
“It now would appear others have gone out of it but still because we respect H.E. the President, we would like to consult further on when we can actually talk about those kinds of things,” Matiang’i said.
According to the DP, his boss Uhuru Kenyatta transferred all his (DP’s) roles to the Interior Ministry; a fact that Ruto has, not once, described as deliberate sabotage aimed at elevating CS Matiang’i against him.
