Tuesday, September 7, 2021 -Directorate of Criminal Investigations has nabbed a middle-aged woman who as been defrauding car owners by hiring their cars and selling them to her clients.
Eunice Lewa Kimondiu or Agnes Mutheu was on Saturday September 5 busted with stolen property in gatundu.
Police reported that the suspect is a resident of Kahawa Sukari in Nairobi and who they arrested in Gatundu where she was set to sell a Toyota Wish Reg. No. KCF 263A which she had hired all the way from Kitale.
Police found that the victim who was to buy the car had already parted with a whopping sh 630,000 for the car which was parked at the car wash.
“Eunice Lewa Kimondiu, alias Agnes Mutheu, a serial fraudster involved in fraudulent sales of hired motor vehicles was yesterday arrested by Kiambu based detectives. The suspect, a resident of Kahawa Sukari was arrested in Gatundu, where she was to sell a Toyota Wish Reg. No. KCF,” tweeted the DCI.

The car hire agency, according to police, had reported the the loss to the police and it was being tracked down before it was discovered parked in Kiambu County.
The Kiambu-based DCI boss who received a directive to launch manhunt for the suspect quickly swung into action through the help of undercover cops who accompanied the buyer to the seller.
They would find the 33 year old Kimondiu armed with several faked car ownership documents which she flaunted as original.
She is currently arrested and cooling her heels at Kiambu Police cells pending court case.
