Saturday, June 18, 2022 –Police have moved with speed to commence investigations into the education papers of the Machakos gubernatorial candidate, Wavinya Ndeti.
The move is coming amid increased debate on the education qualifications of most political leaders in the country currently vying for various positions.
Through a lengthy statement issued on Saturday June 18 by The National Police Service (NPS), Police General Inspector Hillary Mutyambai directed that Ndet,i just like Senator Johnson Sakaja, has to explain her process in school upto her Degree status.
“The National Police Service (NPS) has taken cognizance of the ongoing debate in the public domain on allegations touching on the genuineness of university academic certificates and supporting documentation presented to IEBC for clearance by some aspirants for political seats in the forthcoming General Election,” read the NPS statement and which was signed by spokesperson, Bruno Shioso.
The police boss also tasked the office of Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI to start investigating Senator Sakaja’s documents which he recently presented for clearance with the electoral body, IEBC.
“The NPS has commenced criminal investigations into the genuineness of the certificates presented for clearance to the IEBC by two political aspirants namely Hon Johnson Sakaja and Hon Wavinya Ndeti and determine if any offense has been committed,” stated the NPS.
Most leaders in the country have been running for public office with illegal papers they acquired through backdoor, something that government now wants to bring to a stop.
Among the politicians who have adversely been mentioned in educational saga include Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, his Nairobi counterpart Johsnon Sakaja, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Mike Sonko, tycoon Jimi Wanjigi among many others who are now under State scrutiny.
