Friday, July 21, 2023 –Ugly scenes were witnessed in Kericho after a police officer allegedly shot and killed a young man in a tea plantation.
The situation worsened in the mid-day after locals had confirmed that Brian Kiprotich had been killed at his work place.
“People are really mad because their son, Brian Kiprotich, who was trying to make a living, got killed by the police. The angry residents are protesting, blocking the roads and causing a lot of disruption. Justice for hustler,” Kornelius Rono made the update.
A source would also claim that the demonstrations became wild forcing police offiecrs to call a reinforcement with some using live ammunition to deal with the surging irate crowds.
