Saturday, June 22, 2024 –Dennis Itumbi has been at the center of attacks on social media after thousands of Kenyans on X demanded answers on how young men had disappeared during street protests against the Finance Bill.

Fire started immediately Itumbi made a tweet which he quickly came to delete after noticing that it had triggered a heavy backlash from vibrant Kenyans on X.

In the controversial tweet now deleted, Itumbi, a statehouse operative close to President William Ruto, had accused influencer Crazy Nairobian or Billy of making defamatory comments against a senior State official.

“I have checked with the police why Crazy Nairobian, Billy, is under arrest. I understand he sent a threatening message; I get hundreds of those myself but they do not bother me. But well, it is a crime. I am unable to intervene, though I strongly disagree. I will reach out to the complainant to see if she he can withdraw,” Itumbi posted before deleting the tweet following a downpour of backlash on social media.

On Saturday June 22, evening, Mr. Itumbi who was still on the receiving end, said he still doesn’t know where Billy was and urged anybody with his whereabouts to share as other efforts to locate him are also deployed.

“So, where is Billy? Anyone with details on where he was arrested, please DM. Let us trace him, I have also requested the Police to check if Billy Simani is in their custody,” he added.

Itumbi’s remarks come after pressure mounted on him to disclose the whereabouts of Billy from a section of users on X.

Through, a space launched by influencer, Osama Otero, the X users put Itumbi to task over the influencer’s whereabouts as he(Itumbi) had announced his release without proving with an evidence.

Billy had been reported missing by a section of individuals close to him earlier today Saturday.
