Friday, July 2, 2021 -Heat has escalated in the One Kenya Alliance OKA as members remain divided over who should be picked to lead the team in the 2022 contest against William Ruto.
Sources now claim that during their Thursday July 2 meeting held in Karen Nairobi, KANU’s Gideon Moi asked his colleagues to support Raila Odinga arguing that he is the only man who can vanquish Ruto; and something else could be costly to them.
Reports have it that when the quartet met on Thursday, they sharply differed on whether to support Odinga or not with Senator Moses Wetang’ula, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi ganging up against the Handshake formation of Raila and Uhuru.
According to well-placed sources, Senator Moi told the three that supporting Raila’s presidency was the only way remaining for them if they wanted to win against Ruto.
“The plot is thickening. You will see coalitions within coalitions. We hope the alliance will support Uhuru and Raila,” Gideon’s top ally Kamket detailed.
But according to Mr. Musyoka, their Thursday meeting was successful and they are now focusing on further unity ahead of the 2022 race.
“We met a section of elected leaders from our respective parties and discussed ways of strengthening our union in readiness for the 2022 elections,” Musyoka deviated from speaking on the divisions.
MP Kamket, however, revealed that there was heat in their discussion but urged the OKA leaders to unite with Uhuru and Raila to save this country from corrupt leaders.
