“The government is the one that stole Anne Njeri’s oil. They are claiming her papers are fake; where are their papers?” Cliff Ombeta – Lawyer posed.

Lawyer Ombeta said the government had stolen the oil and directed it to their pipeline; what he is ready to fight in court.

“This is open intimidation and public brutality. You cannot tie someone with chains in one small room for days not caring how he will attend to her short calls. It is very wrong and especially to a lady,” he added.

The lawyer further accused the State of threatening both the business lady as well as her ship/vessel driver never to bring in any fuel for her businesses.

“She has been told to go for good and never to return and the four ships in transit should remain outside this country. Captain has been threatened never to reveal that this is Anne Njeri’s oil,” Ombeta added further.

He described these actions from the government as inhuman and contravening human rights as established in the Kenya Constitution.

“What kind of government is this? If the government is the thief, where will business-people like Anne Njeri go?” he posed again.

On her part, the business lady said she has never forged any business document and targeting her cannot be substantiated by those making the claims.

“I have not forged any documents; all documents linked to my businesses are legit. No one was helping me. I was urinating on myself and slept on the same mattress. A private officer came when it was too late and said nothing,” she lamented.
