Revealing little details of their re-union, Mr. Mudavadi explained that they discussed matters unity and progress for their Western Region.
“This afternoon COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli paid me a visit. We consulted on matters development and unity in Western Region.
“We agreed we have no option as leaders but to consolidate,” he said in a statement.
On his part, Atwoli did not make any comment on the meeting but from the photo shared by Mudavadi on social media, he looked happy with the re-union.
Mr. Mudavadi and Atwoli have not been seeing eye to eye throughout the last divisive campaign season after the two differed on both political ideologies and loyalty.
Atwoli who diligently supported Azimio la Umoja continuously accused Mudavadi of taking the Luhya Nation to William Ruto, while the latter responded by describing the COTU boss as a busy body in Kenya’s politics whose performance at the giant workers’ union has been below average.
They would go on trading barbs in public until when William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza beat Raila in the August 9 polls is when Atwoli surrendered and announced his loyalty to the government of the day.
