Thursday, September 8, 2022 –Senate Speaker Amason Jeffah Kingi’s new monthly gross salary scale is sh 1,160,000. This is according to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission SRC.
Kingi, today Thursday September 8, 2022 won the highly contested Senate speaker seat with 46 votes out of 67 following the sudden withdrawal of Azimio’s Kalonzo Musyoka.
“The official residence shall be a physical building/house owned by the government. The benefit shall not be commuted to cash in lieu of an official residence,” SRC notice read in part.
The new speaker, will also be accorded a 24-hour security protection as will be determined by Inspector General of Police IG office.
The former Kilifi Governor will, among other preferences, have a personal car loan that will not exceed sh 10 million as well as sh 40 million mortgage, per the existing SRC package rates.
“The car loan and mortgage shall be administered and managed centrally by the Parliamentary Service Commission within existing applicable regulations to govern the schemes, and subject to the availability of funds,” the SRC notice read in part.
The new Senate boss will also enjoy mobile phone airtime of sh 25,000 and a medical cover of upto sh 10 million – which will cover his family members – wife and children below 20 years old.
When he completes his service at the Senate, Mr. Kingi who is a lawyer by profession, will go home with a hefty package which will be determined by the SRC as per the market standards.
